Suicidal Ideation Counselling

If you’ve been having thoughts of ending your life, please know—you are not broken, and you are not alone. These thoughts can feel terrifying, confusing, or sometimes quietly familiar. They may come in waves or sit with you for long periods of time.

Suicidal thoughts are not always about wanting life to end. More often, they arise when the pain feels unbearable, when you feel trapped with no clear way forward, or when you begin to believe that your presence is a burden to others. Sometimes these thoughts are connected to depression, trauma, or deep loneliness. At other times, they emerge simply because you have been holding too much for too long, without enough support.

In our work together, these thoughts are met with care and seriousness, not fear or judgement. You will not be shamed, corrected, or pushed to think differently before you are ready. We take time to listen to what these thoughts are trying to express, and to understand the pain, needs, and inner conflicts that sit beneath them. The focus is not on suppressing or fixing your experience, but on creating enough safety to stay present with it.

Together, we work to:

  • Create a sense of safety and grounding during moments of distress

  • Understand the deeper roots of the pain you are carrying

  • Recognise what intensifies these thoughts and what helps them soften

  • Develop a clear and supportive plan for moments when the thoughts return or feel stronger

  • Strengthen your ability to stay with difficult emotions without feeling overwhelmed by them

  • Reconnect with sources of meaning, connection, or aliveness, even if they feel distant right now

If you’re in immediate danger or unable to keep yourself safe, please reach out now:

  • Talk Suicide Canada: Call or text 988 (24/7)

  • Crisis Centre BC: Call 1-800-784-2433 (24/7)

Your life has value, even if it does not feel that way right now. The pain you are experiencing is real, and it deserves care and attention. You do not have to face this alone. Support can meet you where you are, and together we can move forward slowly, one moment at a time.
